Supporting Those Who Keep Us Moving: Royal Caribbean Group Shares Appreciation for Norway’s Seaman's Mission

Seafarers are the heart of Royal Caribbean Group. With nearly 100,000 crew members across its fleet, they are the people behind the exceptional vacation experiences the company delivers to millions of guests each year. Ensuring these valued crew members find a warm, welcoming space wherever their journey takes them is important to the company and why Royal Caribbean Group is proud to support organizations like Norway’s Seaman’s Mission.

During a recent Celebrity Cruises President’s Cruise, brand president Laura Hodges Bethge had the opportunity to thank this organization that has long served as a haven for seafarers passing through the region including ports in Alesund, Bergen, Honningsvag, and Stavanger, Norway.

The Mission’s Seafarers Welcome Centers are more than just places to rest, they are community hubs that offer free access to Wi-Fi, recreational activities, and a connection to home to all crew passing through.

The support for this organization reflects Royal Caribbean Group’s broader commitment to investing in the well-being of its people and the communities visited through its SEA the Future platform. In partnership with local organizations around the world, the company is focused on sustaining the planet, energizing communities, and accelerating innovation - all while placing people at the center of its mission.

The donation to Norway’s Seaman’s Mission is particularly special as Royal Caribbean Group was founded by three Norwegian shipping companies in 1969 and the first ship in the fleet was named, Song of Norway.

By supporting organizations like the Seaman’s Mission, Royal Caribbean Group continues to demonstrate that delivering the best vacations means investing in the people who make them possible. It’s a reminder that behind every unforgettable experience at sea is a dedicated seafarer and caring for them is not only a responsibility, but a deep honor.
