R. Alexander Lake  

Alex Lake serves as senior vice president, chief legal officer, and secretary for Royal Caribbean Group. In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s global legal and compliance functions. Royal Caribbean Group comprises three industry-leading brands including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea; and 50% ownership in a joint venture that operates TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.  

Prior to joining the Group, Alex previously served as executive vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at World Fuel Services Corporation, a Fortune 100 global energy services company, where he spent more than 17 years leading the legal, regulatory and compliance functions.  

Prior to World Fuel Services, he was assistant general counsel at America Online Latin America, Inc., a leading interactive services provider in Latin America. He has also practiced as a corporate lawyer in New York and Miami with the law firms White & Case; Winston & Strawn; and Curtis Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle.  

Lake received his Juris Doctor from Columbia University Law School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College.
