Royal Caribbean Group Navigates Beyond the Ocean, Adding More Land-Based Hospitality and Destinations

Royal Caribbean Group is known for making waves in the cruise industry – first-at-sea experiences, innovative dining experiences, the biggest and boldest vacations ever – and now the Group is making big waves on land, too. The Group is growing its portfolio of private destinations and building a hotel to help streamline travel to Antarctica for expedition cruises, building a well-rounded portfolio of unforgettable experiences both on water and land.

After the success of Perfect Day at CocoCay, the award-winning private destination exclusively for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises guests, Royal Caribbean Group has announced several exciting new development projects, creating a collection of ‘Ultimate Destinations.’

In The Bahamas, construction is underway on Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opening in late 2025. The first-of-its-kind Royal Beach Club will combine the island’s striking beaches with the brand’s signature experiences to create the ultimate beach day. Vacationers can enjoy unlimited dining, drinks and amenities, from The Floating Flamingo – the world’s largest swim-up bar – to three island-style eateries for local fare, Bahamian art installations, and live music.

Over in Mexico, two new destinations are under way. A second Royal Beach Club—the Royal Beach Club Cozumel—opening in 2026, will treat guests to lavish pools, tropical drinks, and local culture in an all-inclusive setting. Featuring stunning beaches, pools with swim-up bars, cabanas, snorkeling, kayaking and more, the beach club will complement all the island has to offer. The spirit of Mexico will be at the heart of the experience with local touches prevelent across a variety of ways to dine and drink, a street market, and hands-on experiences like tequila tastings and cooking classes, perfect for those seeking a more relaxed, beach-club setting.

Then, there’s Perfect Day Mexico, set to open in 2027. It's the biggest and boldest destination ever dreamed up: a mind-blowing, record shattering experience like nothing else out there. Introducing Jaguar’s Peak, the tallest waterslide tower in all the Americas — stacked with 10 hair-raising slides and part of a 30-slide lineup at the new Loco Waterpark. Guests can roar down a two-minute-long, 170-foot descent from the jaguar’s mouth, and adventure together to conquer the tallest family raft slide in North and South America. Guests wanting more chill experiences can drift through paradise and ride the most maxed out river of relaxation ever made. Perfect Day Mexico boasts the world’s longest lazy river with more than a mile of tranquil waters, perfect for soaking up sensational views while sipping on something refreshing from any of three float-up bars. Hop in and out during the hour-long loop or float the entire day away on the water. And for those looking for more action while relaxing — a hidden stretch of rushing rapids awaits. Enjoy three beautiful beaches, while fueling up with craveable flavors from 12 eateries and 24 drinkeries, including six swim-up bars. At Perfect Day Mexico, a perfect day is guaranteed indeed.

The Group’s ambitions don’t stop there. They recently announced Lelepa, a groundbreaking private destination in Vanuatu, opening in 2027. It’ll be the first private cruise destination in the South Pacific, offering guests their own slice of paradise with untouched beaches and clear waters, perfect for those looking to escape into nature. With the Vanuatuan capital and largest city being a regular stop for cruises from Sydney, it only makes sense to bring a private destination to Australian cruisers. It’s accessible from Australia and transpacific cruises, making it a unique destination to experience. Complimentary to guests, this new destination will feature villages, with a welcome village, two beach villages, an additional beach area, a children’s playground, and an adult-only zone. Guests will be able to swim out to a floating bar and enjoy sports and water activities on one side of the island.

The Silversea brand is expanding into land-based adventures as well. They’re developing the Southernmost Hotel on Earth — The Cormorant at 55 South — a 150-room luxury hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile. Serving as a luxurious launchpad for their incredible Antarctic expeditions. It’s all about giving guests a seamless, high-end experience as they explore one of the world’s most extreme landscapes.

Throughout these expansion efforts, Royal Caribbean Group is working with local governments and communities to ensure eco-friendly practices, create jobs, and support local cultures — proving that big adventures can also be conscientious.

By blending land and sea experiences, the Group is creating a truly seamless vacation experience. Guests can enjoy exclusive private beach clubs, fuel their adrenaline in immersive attractions, and prepare for the next Antarctic adventure while indulging in a unique resort, all designed to complement their cruise journeys. For travelers seeking all-inclusive experiences and easy-to-plan vacations, the Group combines the best of every experience in one with their inclusive and exclusive voyages, offering a wider range of personalized, memorable experiences.

Royal Caribbean Group is transforming from a cruise line leader into a vacation industry leader. With ongoing investments and community partnerships, they’re setting out to redefine what vacationers can be.
