Meet Royal Caribbean Group

Royal Caribbean Group is proud of our entrepreneurial spirit, the force that drives us to innovate. It’s that state of mind that helps us see opportunity where others see only risk. It reminds us that “good enough” is not remotely good enough. Instead, we greet every new idea with the words “What if?” instead of “It won’t work.”

Trust and respect sail with us

We design and operate some of the world’s most remarkable ships, but we make a difference in ways that go beyond traditional business goals and instead hold ourselves accountable for improving our world, not merely profiting from it. Because of the way our people encounter the world, we know the power of openness, acceptance, and common ground.

A good neighbor

We are especially passionate about our oceans and education and are active in social impact projects that benefit the local communities we visit and call home. We work with local governments, tourism business, communities and our guests to understand needs and desires as we collectively celebrate new cultures and destinations.

Our history

our history

In 1968, hospitality entrepreneur Ed Stephan and three Norwegian ship owners, Sigurd Skaugen, Anders Wilhemsen and Gotaas Larsen, created a cruise line to sail the Caribbean. The partners chose the name “Royal Caribbean” – with the connection to royalty signifying the high standards of service guests could expect from the new company.
