A New Gateway to Antarctica: Silversea’s Southernmost Hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South

Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has revealed the name of its highly anticipated hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South, the Southernmost Hotel on Earth, located in Puerto Williams, Chile. Set to open during the 2025/2026 Antarctica season, this new hotel will redefine how travelers embark on their Antarctic expeditions.

The Cormorant isn’t just a hotel: it's a celebration of the rich culture, stunning natural beauty and fascinating history of Puerto Williams. The name pays homage to the hotel’s location at 55° S latitude and the aquatic bird that is a symbol of the seafarer and intended to bestow good fortune on guests embarking on their greatest adventure.

Unmatched Experience and Service

At The Cormorant, every detail is designed with the guest experience in mind. The dedicated staff will provide the exceptional service Silversea is known for, ensuring a warm welcome from the moment guests arrive.

The hotel will make the journey to Antarctica smooth and easy, allowing guests to enjoy Silversea’s personalized service throughout their adventure. The innovative six-day Antarctica Fly Cruise expeditions will let travelers fly over the Drake Passage, cutting down travel time and maximizing their experience in this breathtaking region.

As construction of The Cormorant progresses, Royal Caribbean Group eagerly anticipates the opening of the hotel and the amazing experiences it will offer. The Cormorant promises to be more than just a place to stay, it's a gateway to unforgettable adventures in one of the most remote and majestic regions of the world.
